My name is Paul Paolatto and I am currently the Executive Director of Western University’s $125 million network of Research Parks, and Interim CEO of the London Medical Network, a joint venture between Western, the City of London, Robarts Research Institute and the Lawson Health Research Institute charged with advancing medical innovation and commercial activity in the London region.
In addition to my role at Western, I serve as the CEO of Western’s new Additive Design in Surgical Solutions (ADEISS) Centre and CEO of a Western spin-off bio-fuels company named Agri-Therm Inc.
Prior to these roles, I managed WORLDiscoveries, the combined business development arm of Western University, Robarts Research Institute and the Lawson Health Research Institute that has grown to become one of the largest commercialization offices in Canada. I also led the formation of WORLDiscoveries Asia Inc., the first Technology Transfer office in North America to establish a permanent presence in Asia.
Prior to joining Western, I served as part-owner and CEO for two software companies and as Vice President, Operations at a $250 million Ontario-based Energy Services company. I have been and remain active in the community having served on the Boards of the London Police Service, the London Economic Development Corporation, Techalliance, London Small Business Centre, Children’s Health Foundation, Thames Valley Children Centre and the London Junior Knights Rep Hockey Association.
Born and raised in Windsor and a resident of London for the past 18 years; I attended the University of Toronto where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and then the University of Windsor where I earned a Masters degree in Business Administration.
While my family and I would like to keep our home life private, I can share with you that I have been married to my beautiful wife for 30 years and together we raised two amazing children that are now young adults working elsewhere in Ontario. I have been and remain a very lucky man.
